The Guardian App on Apple Watch aims to give readers one piece of great content, timed for when they look at the device and what they have previously read.

This was especially challenging as Apple Watch was not on the market when we began. We relied on our collective experiences with Android wearables, and as the lead UX designer for the project I mapped out a reader’s day to figure out the complex logic that would result in a simple interface. I also wore a paper Watch while working (it looked odd, but was very effective).
